THE MATH IN YOUR AREA OF INTEREST
WHAT'S BIG EYES FOR MATH?
A platform and content for teaching math to middle-school students, personalized according to their individual area of interest

PROBLEM:
In the 21st century, math illiteracy and math anxiety is a particular liability since they limit people from reaching their full potential in their chosen career and personal life.

SOLUTION:
BE4M was conceived with the goal of maximizing each student’s potential in math and minimizing any anxiety. We enable each student to connect to math in his or her comfort zone, by letting them experience and learn the math in their personal areas of interest.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Innovative pedagogy: Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology for teaching math. Proven in class.

Optimal learning occurs when a student is engaged and active, and when learning is based on the student’s real needs. In BE4M, this is achieved through a PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology tailored to individual students. This has several advantages:
-
Students leverage knowledge and intuitions they already have in their area of interest for the benefit of math learning.
-
They learn math in the area they are most interested in.
-
They become better in their area of interest.

PLAN OF ACTION

Big Eyes for Math Platform Connects Industry, Developers, Teachers and Students Communities

BE4M works with companies and organizations that are active in areas that are of interest to students (music, sports, technology, social networks, video games, etc.) to identify real-life examples where math is used in their domain BE4M developers turn these examples into PBL math lessons thereby providing students with an authentic learning experience based on actual problems drawn from their domain of interest. New problems are verified to comply with BE4M standard designed for this purpose.
